Kodama Lamp

Kodama Lamp is a floor lamp taking inspiration from traditional Japanese joinery and aesthetics. It was designed to be constructed without the use of glues or fasteners, and is held together solely by it's own strength.

Compression and Dynamic Tension hold the frame together.

This lamp was made from a single slab of walnut and nothing was wasted during its fabrication. This consistent materiality also allows the wood to fluctuate and react to environmental changes the same because it originated from one source.
